- Bachelor's degree in Education or Data Related Field
- Two years of professional experience developing and administering databases (Microsoft SQL, mySQL, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Forms, etc)
- Experience with data collection, visualization, and management
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and work within deadlines
- Strong workflow management skills and a rigorous attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills, including excellent time management
- Master's degree in Educational Analysis and Evaluation or Research preferred
- Experience managing federal grant data
- Experience developing surveys
- Collect, compile, analyze and report data (grades, demographic data, assessment data etc.)
- Prepare student data to build files that will allow secondary software systems to allow access by certified personnel for the purpose of assessments, skill set development, and academic exercise
- Develop visual data dashboards using District provided software (DOMO)
- Work with partners and district administrators to ensure timely submission of data required for grant acquisition and reporting
- Create and manage data stores to house extracted data from a variety of sources
- Create user-friendly reports to assist stakeholders (staff, district administrators) in data-driven decision making
- Develop protocols to ensure data accuracy

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Data Management Specialist is responsible for the successful management of large, complex data that is required to meet the day-to-day needs of district and building leaders and their teams. This includes but is not limited to the management of data required by multiple grants to remain in compliance with federal guidelines. The incumbent will report to the Chief Academic Officer and will maintain and update reports pertaining to student demographic data, academic data, attendance data, behavior data and other data points as assigned.

Knowledge
Strong knowledge of reporting systems required
Strong knowledge of Skyward Student Management Software required
Knowledge of computer systems and software
Knowledge of best practices in data collection and management
Strong understanding of relational databases
Abilities
Ability to manage a data collection process that includes data input from multiple sources
Ability to teach adult learners in the area of data usage and data input
Ability monitor data to ensure accuracy
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and work within deadlines
Ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
