UVC Veterinary Technology Externship

Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospitals

UNPAID EXTERNSHIP FOR VETERINARY TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital is an extraordinary specialty practice providing a great learning environment for our future veterinary technicians and nurses Veterinary Technology externship students will receive hands-on training working with small animals. Students will gain experience in understanding the veterinary client patient relationship (VCPR) while working closely with skilled senior level veterinarian and technician leadership.


Program Expectations:


Students will rotate through various specialty services and can expect to learn and assist in performing skills specific to each service.

Students will have the opportunity to rotate through the following specialty services:


  • Surgery
  • Emergency & Critical Care
  • Internal Medicine
  • Endoscopy
  • Digital Radiography and Diagnostic Imagining

Program Perks:

Externship students will receive an externship starter pack filled with UVC swag, technician tools, and learning resources.

Students will also have access to the UVC Learning & Development veterinary technician modules, lectures, and courses in preparation for the VTNE.
