    Description

    Russell Tobin is working with a manufacturer of precision machined parts to add to their team at their Dayton, OH location This is a direct hire/permanent position supporting manufacturing activities at the Dayton plant.

    Role Overview:

    The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the plant's overall quality system, collaborating with suppliers and customers to achieve company objectives for new product development and enhancements to existing product lines. This role involves thorough problem analysis and the provision of effective solutions, both internally and externally.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop quality documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
    • Maintain and update Quality Assurance Procedures and Instructions to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
    • Conduct internal audits and identify opportunities for continuous improvement to meet quality standards.
    • Manage product inspection control plans and ensure adherence to quality protocols.
    • Collaborate closely with manufacturing personnel to implement quality initiatives and facilitate necessary adaptations.
    • Prepare and submit First Article Inspection documents to customers.
    • Utilize statistical process control concepts for quality assessment and improvement.
    • Investigate non-conformances and support engineering teams in implementing corrective actions.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality function within a manufacturing environment.
    • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
    • Proficiency in ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100D standards.
    • Strong knowledge of statistical process control principles.
    • Experience in the metal cutting industry is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with dimensional inspection tools and coordinate measurement machines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Minitab, PC-DMIS, MeasurLink, and Unipoint Quality modules.
    • Proficient in logical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
    • Background in defense, aerospace, or automotive industries preferred.
    • Six Sigma experience and/or ASQ CQE certification is desirable.
