Training as a tool mechanic - Cascade, United States - Omega Dynamics
Description
What does a tool mechanic do?Precision is key, often working with hundredths of a millimeter. Workpieces are created according to orders and technical drawings, and further processed through drilling, milling, and grinding. At the tool mechanic's workplace, the fixtures are created that enable the subsequent production of parts. They assemble individual parts into finished tools, program, maintain, and repair - usually on CNC-controlled machine tools.
What can you expect at UMAREX?
In your apprenticeship at UMAREX, you will learn machining processes such as turning, grinding, sawing, or cutting. When it comes to operating the machines, "-ics" plays an important role: in control technology, mechatronics, hydraulics, and electronics.
In addition to the large CNC-controlled machine tools, you will also work at your own workbench, where tools for manual production are available (such as hand saws, screwdrivers, milling cutters, hex keys).
You may also spend time in other departments of the factory where appropriate machines are located. What do we expect?
Since the "tools" created by tool mechanics are the basis for a trouble-free and precise production, everything must be in order.
Concentration, care, and diligence are important, and mathematical and technical understanding make the work easier. Collaboration with other departments must work smoothly, often under time pressure - flexibility and teamworkMore jobs from Omega Dynamics
