ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist the Day Camp Director in the overall development of Day Camp programs with an emphasis on ageappropriate programming.
Create, distribute, and maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with state licensing and program requirements such as signin/checkout sheets, lesson plans, children enrollment attendance sheets, newsletters, etc.
Assist with getting supplies, snacks and meals ready for Day Camp needs.
Ensure that the care of participants is a key priority through direct supervision of the programs and through support to staff in the absence of the Day Camp Director
Maintain communication with staff as it relates to program needs.
Communicate professionally with parents and facility personnel about camp needs.
Understand and follow all state licensing, YoungStar, DCF standards, and YMCA policies/manuals.
Demonstrate a positive and caring attitude while building relationships with children, staff, parents and community members.
Be committed to the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee's Child Abuse/Neglect Prevention efforts as a mandatory reporter.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE:

Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
A bachelor's degree in child development, education, sports and recreation or related field from an accredited college/university is required.
CPR and First Aid, Abusive Head Trauma must be completed before the first day of camp.
Must complete fingerprinting requirement prior to working first shift.
Must have 2+ years' experience working in an organized child program.
Must have 2+ years supervisory experience.
