Safety Coordinator
The Safety Manager monitors operations to eliminate hazardous activities. Develops policies to promote occupational health and safety (OSH) awareness. Focuses on prevention and the need to be diligent and analytical. Supports the creation of a healthy and safe workplace.


Safety Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and implement safety plans; ensure they are being followed daily
  • Conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis
  • Attend safety walks and inspections
  • Educate employees on safety standards, expectations
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
  • Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident
  • Maintain record of the company's safety procedures, accidents and related events
  • Indepth knowledge of OSH guidelines and practice
  • Conduct and support safety meetings; plan, develop and deliver safetyrelated training
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, enforcing adherence and advising management on needed actions
  • Track, analyze incidents and accidents
  • Conduct accident investigations; work with managers and employees to develop plans to prevent similar accidents. Implement the plan and monitor the results
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify workplace hazards; implement hazard controls before accidents occur
  • Determine if employees are using unsafe safety practices; provide corrective training
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies
  • Travel between our locations is required

Qualifications for Safety Manager:


  • Bachelor's degree in health and safety or a related field preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional or similar form of licensure as a safety officer
  • Experience with Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety software
  • Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships
  • Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback
