Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, design, and conduct research. Review progress and evaluates results. Coordinate laboratory work including lab equipment management.
  • Formulate research methods. Develop or collaborate in the development of new techniques, methods, and equipment.
  • Contribute to ensuring regulatory compliance of the research program by coordinating with granting agencies and regulators as required by research program.
  • Design and perform experiments, interpret data, and analyze results.
  • Present findings and prepare and submit manuscripts and research grants.
  • Present talks, posters and research findings at national and international conferences.
  • Attend regular group meetings; manage, maintain, and order laboratory equipment and supplies; and respond to administrative request and procedures.
  • Generate new ideas and projects for development.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of experiments, analyzing and writing findings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The applicant must have a PhD in Neuroscience or related field of study and zero to four years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in neuroscience and demonstrated productivity.
  • Previous experience with whole cell patch clamp electrophysiology in dissociated neurons and slices, animal behavior, immunohistochemistry, neural imaging is an asset.
  • Adept at computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a familiarity with statistical and graphing programs (such as Prism,Matlab, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
