    Based out of Corporate office

    Essential Duties:

    • Employ evidence-based approaches to support the participant so that they may successfully navigate the recovery process
    • Align participants to the program by describing program objectives and providing ongoing guidance using educational materials
    • Knowledge and competence in providing Evidence-based Therapies (EBT), such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
    • Provide telehealth and in-person individual and group sessions
    • Actively support and encourage program participation by providing ongoing feedback and unconditional positive regard to support participants' self-awareness and self-esteem.
    • Provide Person-Centered counseling to the participants through active crisis intervention utilizing individual sessions, group support, and case management
    • Share observations, progress notes, and assessments of participants with your supervisor during regularly scheduled supervision sessions
    • Increase participants' adaptive coping and support developmental integrity by exploring alternative solutions to problems and increase decision-making capacities
    • Assist participants in gaining insight into the disease of addiction by planning educational interventions specific to the impact of substance abuse
    • Collaborate with external agencies when needed to refer or obtain additional participant services
    • Supervise mandated urine toxicology screenings for participants and explain the purpose of the test and who is requesting the test
    • Report outcome of toxicology results to immediate supervisor for clarity and clinical guidance
    • Responsible for signing toxicology requisition forms necessary as part of the chain of possession protocols for supervising, handling, and sealing participant toxicology sample
    • In-person attendance is required to collaborate with co-worker

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor - T, which will be required to obtain full licensing within two years of hire; Required to maintain active status CASAC license to be in compliance with OASAS guidelines and continue employment
    • A minimum of three years of experience working in an OASAS Certified Substance Use Disorder out-patient treatment program
