    Description

    Day to Day:

    Insight Global is looking for a Controls Engineer at BorgWarner in Hazel Park, MI who will perform a vital role in designing and developing systems for manufacturing operations.

    They may design layout, materials and information flow, or machine placement. Additionally, a Control Engineer can be responsible for increasing production efficiency by evaluating performance and proposing and implementing improvements.

    The Control Engineer works within the Drivetrain Systems All Wheel Drive Engineering matrixed organization in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.

    80% of the day will be spent doing production support on the floor and the other 20% doing continuous improvement.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Design electrical and control systems for industrial automation systems
    Program and configure plant floor data interfaces (traceability)
    Support qualifications of production equipment
    Support troubleshooting production equipment for electrical/pneumatic issues
    Lead support for vision inspection systems
    Write work instructions for Controls processes including program, PLCs, automation
    Confers with equipment manufacturers to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
    Support developing robust Process Control Plan for production
    Support robot issues (points, electrical issues, programming)
    Technical leader for the plant in terms of automation
    Train and develop the automation technicians


    Must Haves:
    Bachelors Degree
    Minimum 5 years of experience
    Strong Siemens PLC programming experience (will consider Allen Bradley)
    Robot experience specifically Kuka
    Knowledge of electrical and mechanical manufacturing processes
    Troubleshooting experience
