- Analyze operation of systems and components of Stepp Mfg. asphalt maintenance equipment to determine performance
- Inspect mechanical and electrical systems; diagnose and repair systems
- Disassemble systems, examine parts for defects and excessive wear
- Repair or replace defective parts, adjust settings, and reassemble according to specifications
- Operate electronic testing equipment, precision instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, welding and cutting equipment, and cranes and hoists
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed
- Collaborate with team members and higher-level personnel to determine the best course of action and ensure customer's needs are satisfied
- Be willing to travel for on-site repairs as necessary
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Actively participate in the Company's continuous improvement efforts by identifying and communicating basic process improvements.
- Ensure on time deliveries
- Ability and willingness to cross-train and fill-in where needed
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical functions
- Ability to repair or replace defective parts, adjust settings, and reassemble according to specifications
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Gripping with hands/fingers, reaching, fine dexterity and motor skills for efficient and regular use of basic hand and power tools and assembly of small component parts.
- Remaining alert to surroundings, specifically when operating equipment and/or machinery.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions to resolve the customer's issues
- Use of logic and understanding to draw conclusions from relevant or missing information
- Attention to detail and concentration towards task at hand.
- Requires repetitious and sustained postures alternating between crouching, kneeling, bending, standing for extended periods of time
- 2-year degree in Automotive or Diesel Technology or combination of training and experience that provides equivalent skills, knowledge and abilities
- Must be 18 years of age or older
