- Supervise and be aware of the status and whereabouts of clients at all times
- Assist in creating and executing each client's Individualized Plan of Service or Individual Educational Plan
- Teach, oversee, and aid clients in carrying out daily activities
- Monitor client progress towards goals
- Protect client rights and report any incidents of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment
- Complete incident and medication error reports
- Follow behavioral plans, including approved or emergency restraints and procedures
- Implement recommendations from occupational, physical, and speech therapists
- Create and conduct recreational and community engagement activities
- Collaborate with clinical directors, consultants, families, schools, and other organizations
- Maintain accurate records of services offered and client objectives
- Attend mandatory staff meetings, in-services, and training sessions
- Administer medications and provide routine healthcare and first aid to clients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program locations and vehicles
- Transport clients to and from designated activities
- Participate in emergency drills as needed
- Maintain medication certification
- Ensure precise record-keeping of petty cash and client cash on hand accounts
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Direct Care Professional - Starting at $17.25 per hour
With potential to earn $18.25 per hour and 16 hours of PTO upon completion of med certification
Full-time position: 30 hours per week
Job Summary: The Direct Care Professional will offer support and assistance to clients in various Agency programs, including community and supported living arrangements, family support services program, and day/vocational program. Their responsibilities include providing daily care, education, and supervision to clients while maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals facing developmental and/or behavioral challenges preferred, or a similar combination of education and experience

- Successful completion of Medication Certification Program
- Successful completion of PMT, CPR, and First Aid training programs
- Possession of a valid CT driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Work Environment:
The workplace generally has a moderate level of noise. Employees will travel by car and may encounter varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
During the job, employees will need to talk, listen, stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. They may need to lift up to 75 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force during physical restraint procedures. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Language and Mathematical Skills:
Ability to read and understand English documents, write reports in English, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense and address issues involving various concrete variables.Location:
