BGS is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic and high performing team. This position manages the bi-weekly processing of payroll and other payroll related functions of BGS. The Payroll Specialist role requires a high level of accuracy and strong knowledge of tax and wage laws and reports to the Controller.
What You Will Do:
+ Develop and/or maintain payroll related policies and procedures.
+ Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
+ Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
+ Process bi-weekly payroll for BGS Consolidated companies.
+ Help to maintain personnel data within payroll and accounting systems.
+ Help to address and resolve employee issues relating to payroll within BGS HR team.
+ Prepare any required payroll related reports and assist HR team with external reporting where needed.
+ Work with accounting team regarding the payment of employee expense reports.
+ Assist accounting team in the reconciliation of payroll related general ledger balances.
+ Assist with the gathering of data and records for regulatory audits as needed.
+ Other duties and special project as assigned.
*This position is a Hybrid Work arrangement. Days reporting into our Oak Ridge, TN office will be required, with the flexibility to work remotely other days.
Qualifications
You Have:
+ Minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll related position.
+ An associate or bachelors degree in business or accounting is preferred.
+ ADP, Paycom, and/or Unanet experience a plus.
Ideally, You Will Bring:
+ Proficient in MS Office products and strong Excel skills.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Strong drive and initiative to follow through with pending issues and meet deadlines.
+ Must have excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and a collaborative approach within a team environment.
+ Attention to detail, and ability to analyze and problem solve.
