**Job Summary**
We are looking for a dynamic Lead Janitor to join our dedicated team in Newport Beach
The Lead Janitor is a working position. The ideal candidate will oversee custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
This is a full time position, night shift. + Assists in the training of the custodial staff at assigned location.
+ Oversees custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
+ Must get along well with others and deal effectively with principals, teachers, students, and visitors.
+ Locks and unlocks doors
+ Checks the security of the building and grounds
+ Activates and deactivates the alarm system
+ Sweeps and wet and dry mop floors
+ Waxes floors and operates buffing machines
+ Vacuums and cleans carpets
+ Washes windows and dusts furniture
+ Cleans restrooms using appropriate equipment and supplies
+ Load and unload delivery trucks
+ Performs minor maintenance and replaces lights, tubes, ceiling tile, switch and outlet plates
+ Makes minor repairs to equipment and furniture as needed
+ Uses a power lift up to 40 ft, to perform some tasks
+ Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities
+ Must get along well with others and deal effectively with principals, teachers, students, and visitors.
**Requirements**
+ At least 1-2 years lead custodial experience in an educational setting preferred
+ Minimum of a high school diploma
+ Experience with carpet spotting & carpet shampooing; stripping and waxing of hard floors; buffing and burnishing a plus
+ Ability to establish and maintain work standards adhering to health and safety requirements
+ Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
+ Ability to set priorities and manage conflicting demands
+ Ability to work effectively under pressure
+ Basic knowledge of industrial janitorial cleaning
+ Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Pay rate: $17 hourly
