STATUS

POSITION SUMMARY:
The

Accounting and Finance Analyst

collaborates with the team to complete month end close process, monthly/quarterly financial reporting and analysis, preparation of budgets that support the overall financial objectives of the business.

Position requires customer service skills, initiative, and attention to detail to achieve quick turnaround times or deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs general ledger activities including monthly close activities, and preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
Creation of forecasts, budgets
Performs account research and analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes
Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
Ensures integrity of financial information in the general ledger
Identifies, researches and assists in the resolution and implementation of moderately-complex accounting projects
Prepares audit schedules as required
Ensures that internal and external customers are provided with timely and accurate assistance
Cross-trains in other areas of the finance and accounting department
Works on special projects and prepares ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Provides timely information to the business as requested
Performs other duties as assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and competency in accounting and financial practices and procedures
Knowledge, skill and ability to work independently and with a team, includes interpersonal skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; analysis and creation of spreadsheets and reports, pivot tables and v-lookup
Knowledge, skill and ability to communicate in verbal and written formats, including the ability to explain calculations or reports
Must have proven ability to meet tight deadlines
Must have proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
Adept at actively listening to ensure understanding and achieve goals
Ability to adapt and thrive in a changing environment
Demonstrate ability to build trust and collaborative relationships across the organization
Ability to quickly learn and apply new job-related information
Excellent organizational and analytical skills

Ability to travel as needed via plane or automobile to meetings or other events

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA preferred
Up to 2 years of accounting and finance experience required
One or more years of financial analysis/planning required
Experience with Costpoint and/or other project based General Ledger systems required

PHYSICIAL REQUIRMENTS:
Essential duties are routinely conducted in professional remote or field locations.

The role may require work at a station/desk and routinely requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/scanners, fax machines, printers, and filing cabinets.

Duties may require the use of transportation to attend meetings or conduct duties outside of the remote office.

Must be able to regularly remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office to access office machinery and facilities.

This role frequently communicates to internal and external resources both verbally and written, via face-to-face, electronic, telephonic and video media.

Must be able to understand and exchange accurate information in these situations, as well as translate into action.

Short-term and long-term memory, abstract reasoning and decision making, guiding others on mathematical calculations may be required on a regular basis.

Core office, business operational hours may be required.

Occasionally must be able to move/transport materials weighing up to 30 pounds, as well as position self to access files, equipment, and work materials.
