***: The Accounting Clerk provides administrative assistance to ensure that the company's daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. This position will process vendor invoices and outgoing payments. It is also responsible for bookkeeping, accounting, clerical and administrative tasks, keeping track of balance sheet items such as accounts receivables and payable. The Accounting Clerk is also responsible for keeping track of invoices and bank transactions.


CORE RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Assist with daily office activities and paperworkflow.
  • Maintain organized and provide accurate record keeping, filing, and storing.
  • Post financial transactions using accounting software.
  • Provide assistance and follow through with the completion of timesheet for providers.
  • Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy, and assist in the preparation of accounts payable.
  • Check for accuracy in reports, figures and postings.
  • Prepare correspondence, mailings, and priority shipments for the Finance Department.
  • Assist with the ordering of agency program supplies and verify upon their delivery.
  • Assist with following up with programs on pending receipts needed.
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding financial matters.
  • Provide support for annual internal and external audits.
  • Establish and manage federal and state government accounts, maintaining compliance, tracking deadlines and submitting requested information.
  • Effectively engage and support historically minoritized groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive serviceoriented practices.
  • Maintain ongoing contact and engagement with Finance Department staff and administration as well as stakeholders and partners.
  • Institute practices and principles related to the Agency's Trauma-Informed Care goals and strategies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE OF:


  • Handson experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures

SKILLS:


  • Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
  • Data entry and word processing skills

ABILITY TO:


  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.

  • Strong organization skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 12 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Nonprofit work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's Degree from Accredited Institution in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
