- Set up welding equipment, including selecting appropriate welding materials, gas mixtures, and wire feed speeds.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to understand project specifications.
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and cutting metal pieces as necessary.
- Perform welding operations using MIG welding techniques to join metal parts accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor and adjust welding parameters during the welding process to maintain the quality and integrity of the welds.
- Inspect finished welds for defects, such as cracks, holes, and porosity, and perform necessary rework if required.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain and clean welding equipment regularly to ensure its optimal performance and longevity.
- Document and record welding parameters, materials used, and work completed for quality control and traceability purposes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in welding is a plus.
- Proven experience as a MIG welder, with a strong portfolio of past work.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Solid understanding of welding techniques, metal properties, and metallurgy.
- Familiarity with various metals and their appropriate welding procedures.
- Ability to operate and maintain welding equipment, including MIG welding machines, torches, and related tools.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and environments.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to welding operations.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
- Stand, bend, stoop, and work in various positions for extended periods.
