We are currently seeking a Respite Provider to join our team.

As a Respite Provider, you will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals in need of temporary relief from their caregiving responsibilities.

Lincoln Street Inc., is
currently seeking a respite provider for a woman in her 60s. This individual has Multiple Sclerosis and uses an electric wheelchair. She needs help with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, meal and medication prep, and transferring.

She requires a provider who has the strength to help her maneuver, for example when she uses a Hoyer lift to get in and out of bed.

This individual does not have any cognitive challenges and is a good conversationalist. She attends an adult day program 5 days a week. She enjoys watching birds at the feeders outside her window and corresponding with old friends by mail.


Duties:

• Provide direct support and assistance to individuals requiring respite care
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the individual's care plan
• Offer companionship and engage in meaningful activities with the individual
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individual
• Lift and transfer individuals as necessary

Experience:

• Previous experience in senior care, patient care, or home care is preferred
• Familiarity with ADLs and providing personal care
• Ability to lift and assist with transfers
