    JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: Infant Toddler Nurse (RN) DEPT: Early Learning Division

    REPORTS TO: Health & Nutrition Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt

    SALARY RANGE: $21.00-$38.00/hr.

    JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring health screenings and assessments are completed that meet or exceeds state and federal guidelines. Responsible for record keeping of health services and compliance with all health-related mandates. Promotes preventative health services and early intervention for children and families.

    Children supervision responsibility: Responsible for the oversight of child supervision and for keeping children safe.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Coordinates, implements, and tracks dental, hearing, vision, and other health related screenings for children.
    2. Tracks and follows up on health requirements, physical exams, dental exams, lead, hemoglobin/hemacrit, immunizations, etc.
    3. Distributes and restocks first aid supplies to sites monthly and as needed.
    4. Provides families with resources for health services.
    5. Assess children's injuries sustained at centers.
    6. Monitor health records of children and assist with the maintenance of documentation, data, and files and ensures confidentiality, including program file requirements, training documents, and tracking.
    7. Assist and support Family Advocates and Site Managers with health record-keeping, follow-up and tracking.
    8. Assist with development of individual health care plans.
    9. Assist the Health & Nutrition Manager with the development of yearly goals and objectives, for the health component.
    10. Discuss the health status of children with their parents and provides support in accessing referrals.
    11. Provide health follow up services in the home for pregnant women and infants.
    12. Accompany EHS Home Visitor on home visits quarterly and if needed.
    13. Meet with families to review medication to be administered to children at the site level and complete action plans for children with medical concerns.
    14. Track medication expiration and follow up with families to get updated medications.
    15. Serve on the Health Services Advisory Committee.
    16. Adhere to Alliance for Community Empowerment Inc. policies and procedures related to prevention and response to COVID-19, including participating in training, use of PPE, implementation of universal precautions, social distancing, and keeping workspace clean.
    17. Assist with daily health screening, monitoring as related to COVID-19.
    18. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Licensed Registered Nurse (BSN or RN from an accredited university
    • Experience or training in infant/toddler development.
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with infant/toddlers and families.
    • Knowledge and experience in data collection and information processes and systems along with knowledge of childcare regulations, policy and procedure compliance.
    • Current certification in Red Cross/CPR and Medication Administration is desired.
    • Good Oral and written communication skills are required.
    • Must be well organized and able to maintain files, records, and other documentation.
    • Ability to appreciate social differences with sensitivity towards low income families.
    • Ability to set priorities and work independently.
    • Must have a valid CT driver's license with a good driving record and be willing to travel.
    • Bilingual is helpful.
