Position Summary
Asa nationally accredited program with a strong educational component in TheUniversity of New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the MedicalInvestigator (OMI) investigates any death occurring across the state of NewMexico that is sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is founddead and the cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special program withinthe Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death in thesecases, and provides formal death certification.
OMIis currently looking for a Deputy Medical Investigator to join our team. Ourideal candidate will be a team player and willing to learn. This person must beable to work with decedents in various types of scene settings and in variousbody conditions. Our ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be ableto follow complex instruction. We need someone with a great deal of resilienceand that is not triggered by odors. The position also requires data entry,writing, and a high degree of attention to detail. If this sounds like aninteresting position for you, we encourage you to apply.
Thisposition requires the ability to drive company vehicles and pass and maintainthe required certification for ABMDI. This position requires work on 2nd and3rd shifts and the ability to work 10 hour shifts. Work on holidays andweekends also required. This position also requires the handling and moving ofdecedents, sometimes over 300 pounds in small, tight spaces.
