As a
Bilingual Social Worker you will be responsible for providing culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed, and family-centered services and planning for children who are referred through social services, probation, post-adoption services or the San Jose Unified School District.

The children and families that we served are in the process of stepping down from institutional into family or family-like settings.

Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community in families' homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc. The primary role is to ensure that all parties are working together toward stability for the child and family.

Social Workers engage clients in meaningful and authentic relationships while providing a safe, predictable, and positive environment that aligns with our clients' values and cultures.


ABOUT THE PROGRAM


Seneca offers "Wraparound" services to children and youth at risk of placement in a high-level residential treatments or juvenile hall, and to their families.

The Wraparound programs are strengths-based, family-driven, flexible, and creative, with the goal of helping the family develop the skills and supports to prevent or reduce the possibility of residential placement of their child.

A family-based team addresses the needs of the entire family, not just the at-risk child.

This family-based team consists of family members, Seneca's Care Coordinators, Youth counselors, Parent Partners, Permanency Specialist and other community members who have an i
mportant role in the family.

Responsibilities:


  • Promptly meet with clients and caregivers on a regular basis to further treatment goals utilizing culturally informed and best practice modalities
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for the purpose of care planning and support
  • Collaborate with agency staff, caregivers, other professionals and interested parties to formulate and implement individual client care plans, behavioral programs, and interventions
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers, as needed
  • Complete assessment and evaluation process of clients in order to develop and implement the care plan
  • Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate
  • Chart mental health notes, care plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain availability for crisis intervention services, such as oncall rotation, if applicable
  • Comply with all child abuse reporting and Medicaid/Medi-Cal requirements in accordance with standards set by Seneca
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and business operations information
  • Commit to and engage in selfevaluation as well as organizational goals, strategies, and systemic practices regarding diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Utilize crisis communication and deescalation techniques as per Seneca's EQ4 model training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of
- the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities such as CPI may be required


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work/psychology/counseling

Bilingual in Spanish required:

  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure with the applicable regulatory agency responsible for licensing, examination, and enforcement of competent mental health practice standards
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience working with children in outofhome care preferred
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Good organizational and writing skills
  • At least 21 years of age
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy
  • Proof of uptodate COVID19 vaccination

Schedule:

  • Fulltime; Monday
  • Friday
- flexible working evenings and weekends

  • Inperson work expected; with some flexibility for remote work
