Overview:

Position Summary:

The Clinical Lab Scientist performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment.

The CLS in this role will primarily conduct testing in Hematology and Coagulation. Additionally, they will have the responsibility of instructing non-laboratory personnel in the utilization of Point of Care Testing devices.


Other responsibilites will include:
Communicating technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff; participate in administrative activities. May provide functional supervision to support staff. They should be proficient in training and assessing competencies for nursing, respiratory therapists, and other non-laboratory staff.


Minimum Qualifications: 1+ year of relevant clinical experience.


Other Qualifications:

  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to sort, filter, query, and analyze data.
  • Interest in Point of Care Testing (POCT), with preferred experience in POCT but not mandatory.
  • Excellent public speaking skills; teaching and training abilities are preferred.
  • Outgoing personality, adept at interacting with others and capable of teaching and training.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to organize time effectively.
  • Demonstrated selfdiscipline, capable of adhering to schedules while remaining flexible to meet section needs. Must be able to work independently and possess experience in performing testing in a highvolume laboratory.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology or related science required.
