    Job Summary

    This position is located in Thief River Falls, MN.

    The Workforce Development Representative position exists to provide Career Services and CareerForce information to job seekers through orientations, group instruction, and one-on-one assistance with a priority on serving Unemployment Insurance Applicants through re-employment calling and follow up assistance, and Veterans so job seekers can make informed career choices. The incumbent provides career guidance consulting and resources to job seekers and provides training on how to seek employment through creative job search modules, job clubs, job search and resume classes, and other employment-related workshops. This position will provide technical and information resources so that job seekers have access to information and tools to secure appropriate employment, and employers have access to tools and information to successfully recruit and retain employees. This position also helps businesses find job seekers and coordinates local hiring events with employers.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Toreceivecreditforyoureducationandexperience,yourresumeshouldclearlydescribehow you meet each minimum and preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment.

    Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or other closely related field as determined by the agency.

    OR

    One (1) year of experience in a role providing employment and training services, case management, or a similar role as determined by the agency.

    Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

    Skill in:
    • Development and presentation of workshops for adult career seekers, to be offered virtual and in person.
    • Organization to manage, track, and report expenses, financial transactions using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel to track expenses.
    Communication skills to:
    • Connect career seekers to work force training opportunities to advance skills.
    Ability to:
    • Form and grow connections with community partners such as educational institutions, employers, and supportive services to assist career seekers in gaining employment.
    • Adapt to changing work priorities and goals.
    Incumbent must maintain valid driver's license, & insurance, OR have other reliable transportation

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or other closely related field as determined by the agency AND one (1) year of related work experience.

    Experience:
    • Using WorkForce One, , , SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and WebEx.
    • Providing career guidance and coaching.
    Skill communicating in a secondary language.
