Boston Metal is commercializing cutting edge extractive metallurgy technology that will revolutionize primary metals production, while decreasing cost and lowering environmental impact.

This fast-paced startup company is looking for a Warehouse Materials Handler to join the team.


Summary


You will report to the Senior Supply Chain Specialist and be responsible for all receiving and inspections of inbound materials as well as processing and tracking outbound shipments of products and materials.

You will also be responsible for the area organization and maintenance of the warehouse as well as enforcing all necessary safety processes and procedures required for a safe warehouse operation.


Responsibilities:


  • Physically and virtually receive goods, inspect parts and materials, when they arrive. Validate the accuracy and quality of each inbound order received and then notify relevant parties of the arrival and current condition of each order.
  • Process the outbound shipment of parts, materials, and packages on behalf of Boston Metal in the timeliest, most costeffective manner.
  • Facilitate receipts management for dropshipments between 3 party suppliers.
  • Assist with inventory control and assist in developing processes to receive, add to inventory, and prepare and process stored material requests for internal delivery.
  • Support monthly inventory cycle counting to align on hand inventory with MRP system.
  • Maintain a clean facility, including floor cleaning, dock door maintenance, general warehouse cleanliness and organization of warehouse.
  • Utilize a forklift and pallet jack for moving pallets of material regularly throughout the warehouse and in an out of a dock door as needed.
  • Enforce warehouse safety standards as it relates to general warehouse safety and forklift safety policies.

Required Qualifications and Skills:


  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Adaptable and willingness to work in a quicklychanging environment.
  • State of MA Forklift certification and 3 years of experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse operations experience.
  • Experience working in a warehouse setting assisting with receiving parts, materials, and packages.
  • Prior responsibility for warehouse organization, 5S, building maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:


  • The employee must be able to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required by the specific work activity which may include: N95 mask or respirator; various types of gloves/hand protection; safety shoes; head protection; and protective clothing.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee has potential for exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or hazardous waste, and occasional exposure to moving equipment, the risks of which are minimized through compliance with established use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety policies and procedures.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Top 3-5 must haves are

  • Warehouse and operations experience, likely 3 years but depending on that experience we can be flexible
  • Forklift certification in the state of MA. Again, 3 years preferred, but if they are an expert that has done complex forklift work for 18months as opposed to ten years just moving items around the floor, that is where depending on what their experience looks like may differ from 3 years being required.
  • Familiarity with the inbound and outbound flow of materials, warehouse racking, order fulfillment.
  • Warehouse safety policy and procedure


Fully onsite position 8 am - 4 pm with the potential for some flexibility if major orders are ever expected early in the morning, or after 4 pm (within reason).
