    Description

    SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician II in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy. This position will serve in the Environmental Testing Area (ETA), determining complex test set-up and fixture requirements, and performing environmental testing and ensure proper production control of the items being tested.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Support Nondestructive Testing of various ordnance weapon systems and subsystems by loading and unloading ordnance items into and out of test fixtures
    • Driving a forklift and using a pallet jack to load and unload multiple ordnance deliveries daily
    • Use approved hand tools to de-band, unpackage, serialize, repackage, and band a variety of ordnance containers made of wood and metal
    • Handle and transport ordnance items through the building for delivery to test cells in a timely manner
    • Perform environmental testing such as climatic and dynamic testing of various ordnance weapon systems and subsystems
    • Collect, maintain, organize, compile and manipulate technical data
    • Communicate with leadership, other members of the team and the customer to ensure a clear understanding of requirements, status updates, action items and issues are addressed

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of related experience
    • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim secret needed to start
    • Must be a U.S. citizen
    • Able to lift 50 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the day without assistance
    • Able to obtain a Forklift License
    • Able to become explosive-handling certified within 6 months of hire
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
    • Able to work effectively within a team of technicians, engineers and technical writers
    SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.

    Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
