Position Overview:
The Driver/Packer is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods from one location to another, as well as ensuring proper packaging and handling of items.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety.Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items onto the vehicle, ensuring that they are securely packed and protected from damage during transit.
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe driving practices.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle, both internally and externally.
- Assist with packaging and labeling of items as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a commercial or delivery capacity.
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver a variety of vehicles, including vans and trucks.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in packaging or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
- Forklift certification.
