- Teach individual or group music lessons in piano, voice, woodwinds, or percussion to students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Devise lesson plans that meet the distinct needs and objectives of each student.
- Offer constructive feedback and motivation to students for enhancing their musical skills.
- Assist in organizing recitals, performances, or other platforms for students to showcase their musical talents as per YMCA directives.
- Maintain a secure and encouraging learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with fellow music instructors and staff to bolster the overall music program at Somerset Hills YMCA.
- Bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field. However, individuals passionate about music and self-taught are also encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience in teaching music lessons, ideally in a community or educational background.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following instruments: piano, voice, woodwinds, or percussion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to motivate and inspire students of varied age groups and skill levels.

Somerset Hills YMCA is in search of creative and enthusiastic musicians to offer Music Lessons in Guitar, Piano, Voice, or Woodwind Instruments to children and teenagers. The ideal Music Instructors must feel confident working with various age groups, helping individuals achieve their musical aspirations. They should be well-versed in fundamental music concepts and teaching techniques to aid students in reaching basic proficiency in their chosen instrument. Reporting to the Youth & Family Program Coordinator, the Music Instructor will design and deliver lessons to children aged 3-11.
