Job Overview:
Carpenters Assistants work with the lead carpenter.

They will gather and carry materials, clean work areas, equipment, measure and cut materials, position equipment, preparing for the job.

Carpenters and assistants work both indoors and outdoors. Worksites are different, tall buildings and bridges to homes and industrial sites.


Duties:

• Assist with carpentry projects including framing, trim work, and repairs
• Operate power tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Measuring lengths, cutting, and shaping materials
• Sanding, painting, and staining materials
• Drilling holes in construction materials
• Assist with masonry projects including bricklaying and concrete work
• Fabricate materials as needed for various projects
• Moving construction or extraction materials to locations where they are needed
• Helping to ensure the safety of the job site
• Assist with flooring installation including tile, laminate, or hardwood

Experience:

• Previous experience in carpentry or related field is required
• Knowledge of power tools and equipment used in construction projects
• Experience with water damage restoration techniques is a plus
• Familiarity with drywall installation and repair methods
• Ability to hang doors accurately and efficiently
• Basic knowledge of masonry techniques such as bricklaying or concrete work
• Experience in fabricating materials for construction projects
• Familiarity with cabinet installation procedures
• Knowledge of flooring installation methods
