Position Overview:

The Junior Estimator will collaborate closely with a Chief/Senior Estimator to gain a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in the estimating process over a 12 to 24-month period.

The role entails learning the intricacies of estimating through hands-on experience and mentorship.

Primary Responsibilities:

Acquire skills to interpret plans and specifications for accurate takeoffs
Assist in postbid activities including client negotiations and scope adjustments
Stay updated on advancements in electrical products and processes
Gain proficiency in using Estimating Software and Bluebeam or similar onscreen takeoff tools
Develop client relationships to support business growth
Learn to generate timely and accurate budgets
Participate in prebid walkthroughs as necessary

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Capacity to manage and prioritize workload effectively
Analytical thinking and problemsolving skills
Intermediate or higher proficiency in computer usage
Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt

Position Responsibilities:

Familiarize with material pricing and labor units
Understand various bid forms and correspondence processes
Learn about addendums and the role of purchasing in estimating
Participate in GC bid meetings and understand project classifications
Recognize the importance of coordination between low voltage and electrical estimators
Attend relevant product training sessions and job startup meetings
Perform additional tasks as assigned

Work Environment:

The role primarily operates within an office setting, with occasional visits to regional offices, job sites, and vendor/manufacturing facilities as necessary.

$ $38.00 per hour
