    Description


    Under the supervision of the Director of Public Guardian Services, provides professional support to the Director in assisting with clients with special needs.

    Conducts interviews, determines community support needs, documents findings and maintains files. Works both in and out of the office and is responsible for court testimony as needed.


    Associate's Degree in social work, criminal justice, counseling, or related field and two year of progressively more responsible experience in a human services field.

    Valid Michigan Driver's License. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of interacting with special needs individuals and maintaining composure.

    Knowledge of the criminal justice legal system, counseling, working with mentally impaired individuals, implementing treatments plans and applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

    Skills in organizing, leading and conducting interviews with mentally challenged individuals. Skill in assembling and analyzing data, and preparing accurate reports.

    Ability to establish effective working relationships and use good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness when dealing with County employees, contractors to the County, representatives of other governmental units, professional contacts, elected officials, clients and families and social services agencies.

    Current hourly range starting at $ $31.07/hr (7-year progression).
