- Responsible for providing professional expertise and guidance to management and employees in all areas of Environment, Health & Safety.
- Assist management and their EHS committees by diagnosing potential challenges and providing effective solutions.
- Participate in all incident investigations and root cause analysis for workplace incidents/injuries.
- Assist branches in implementing the Corporate EH&S management system effectively and consistently.
- Assist branch management with monthly EH&S inspections.
- Identify deficiencies at branch level to assist in the development of corporate EH&S initiatives.
- Provide accurate interpretations of applicable EHS legislation to Management.
- Coordinate emergency response operations including medical, chemical, fire and evacuation/rescue, designating responders and arranging for any necessary training.
- Keep abreast on OSHA, safety and environmental laws, so as to keep the company in compliance with regulatory agencies and other applicable laws.
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
- Bachelor's degree in EHS or 3+ years of relevant experience required.
- Excellent knowledge of all environmental and safety-related federal, state, and local regulations and laws including but not limited to OSHA, MSHA and EPA regulations.
- Minimum of two years in safety, DOT and/or environmental compliance.
- Ability to write and prepare EHS related materials, reports, correspondence, etc.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
