Description

Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipping department's daily operations, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of outgoing shipments.

This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate and optimize shipping processes to meet organizational goals.


Supervision and Leadership:


  • Lead and manage a team of shipping associates.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Order Processing:


  • Coordinate the processing of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee the picking, packing, and labeling of products for shipment.
  • Work closely with other departments to prioritize and fulfill orders efficiently.

Shipping Logistics:


  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including hazardous materials handling.
  • Optimize shipping routes to minimize costs and improve delivery times.

Inventory Management:


  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet customer demands.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in inventory records.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to address stock discrepancies.

Quality Control:


  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy of shipped products.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping errors or discrepancies.
  • Monitor packaging standards to prevent damages during transit.

Performance Metrics:


  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the shipping department.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide regular reports on shipping performance to management.
  • Former experience in shipping, logistics, or a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of shipping software and systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in shipping.
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field is a plus.
