The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences and the Vision Sciences Center at UofL is currently seeking outstanding candidates for full- time, tenure track positions at any level.
We seek investigators in both basic and clinical research who focus on normal ocular function, ocular disease and its causes, as well as therapeutic approaches to alter the course of disease.
We seek individuals using 'cutting edge' technology to address these areas of research. To be considered, Associate and Full Professors must have extramural support, and Assistant Professors may not yet be funded.Candidates will be expected to demonstrate how they will establish and/or sustain an innovative research program supported by extramural funding (Federal, Private Foundation and/or Industry Contracts).

The Department/Center for Visual Sciences provides an invigorating, collaborative, and interactive work environment across a number of areas of Visual Science.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in studying ocular/retinal structure and function using state of the art techniques.
The candidates will have a strong publication record, ability and desire to work collaboratively with current members of the Visual Sciences Community.
The candidate may hold an M.D., a Ph.D. or both. We seek creative, responsible, and highly motivated candidates. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications and funding.
