    POSITION SUMMARY

    The System Administrator designs, administers, and maintains server environments to meet the business needs of the district; determines standard configurations for servers, workstations, devices, and kiosks running Microsoft Windows operating systems; manages enterprise-wide printing mechanisms; maintains appliances and devices that connect to the district's networks and systems.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Microsoft Systems Administration
    • Builds, configures, and maintains all Microsoft Windows-based systems
    • builds and configures new bare metal and virtual servers based on department and industry standards
    • installs and configures software on servers in collaboration with other IT teams or external partners/vendors
    • troubleshoots and resolves Microsoft Windows server issues
    • supports and maintains Microsoft 365 cloud storage and applications
    • Maintains Microsoft Active Directory
    • develops and applies standards for Group Policy objects to maximize functionality, stability, and security of servers, desktops, and mobile devices
    • troubleshoots and resolves Active Directory issues
    • Engineers system and application integrations; develops code/scripts that enable applications/systems to interface with one another
    • Supports and administers non-Microsoft systems as assigned
    Information Systems Architecture
    • Architects and implements enterprise-level technology solutions
    • Defines organization-wide computing standards
    • Develops and implements Identity and Access Management (IAM) standards
    Project Planning & Execution
    • Analyzes business needs and defines strategies for meeting those needs
    • Contributes to the development and maintenance of project plans and timelines
    • Uses standard information technology tools to track project work and document results
    Documentation and Process Improvement
    • Creates and implements workflows
    • Maintains system and process documentation according to department standards
    • Designs and executes process and procedure improvements
    • Trains other IT teams and users as needed
    Enterprise Application Administration
    • Configures and maintains the district's productivity application suites
    • Configures and maintains the district's email system; troubleshoots and resolves email delivery issues; configures email delegation
    • Creates and maintains storage resources (shared and user drives) according to department and institutional standards
    • Creates and maintains user and group identities according to department and institutional standards

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Associate degree from an accredited institution in the field of computer science, information systems, information security, systems architecture, or project management

    Two or more years of paid information technology work experience
    -AND-
    Experience with Microsoft Windows Server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
    -AND-
    Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) (

    Experience with PowerShell scripting and/or modern programming languages

    SCHEDULE & MODALITY
    Based on individual assessment, business needs, supervisory discretion and/or college directives, a percentage of the duties of this position may be performed remotely.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    • This is a 100%, 12-month classified assignment of the C2 band and grade
    • Please note: The college is currently undertaking a comprehensive classification and compensation study. No employee will lose base pay because of this study, however, classification titles and pay grades may change. The successful candidate will receive notice of all changes prior to implementation which is currently projected for the Summer of 2024.
    • This position has a 6-month probationary period
    • All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
    • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
    • Must pass physical fitness and agility test
    • This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
