Veterinary Surgical Centers is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to our team at our new Gaithersburg location (opening soon). Training may be started at one of our other locations.

    Veterinary Technician - Surgery

    Veterinary Surgical Centers in Gaithersburg, MD

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Assisting our team of board-certified specialists in care and surgical procedures
    • Performing all laboratory in-hospital procedures and to prepare specimens for outside laboratories
    • Taking patient histories, monitoring vitals, and checking weights on patients
    • Cleaning, stocking, transferring and discharging patients
    • Delivering strong and professional customer service to clients, and more

    REQUIREMENTS

    • One to three years of veterinary experience
    • Experience in specialty veterinary medicine and/or small animal anesthesia will be preferred
    • 2-year Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited U.S. Veterinary Technician college and current Maryland State licensure is required
    • VTS (Anesthesia or Surgery) members are HIGHLY encouraged to apply
    • We are willing to consider candidates with less experience who have a strong desire to advance their knowledge and practice of anesthesia
    • Positive and energetic individual
    • Work as a team player in group settings as well as be able to work individually
    • Demonstrate strong communication and fast problem-solving skills in a stressful situation
    • Be comfortable with multi-parameter monitoring equipment, inhalant, and injectable anesthesia agents
    • Have a passion for improving quality of life for animals
    • Excel at multitasking
    • Be dependable, trustworthy with strong work ethic and a willingness to continue learning
