Postdoctoral Associate- Cerebellum Research - Houston, United States - Baylor College of Medicine
Description
Summary:
A postdoctoral associate position is available in the NIH-funded laboratory of Dr.
Hsiao-Tuan Chao at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, which is affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital.
We are seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join our team engaged in basic and translational neuroscience and genetics research.
Our laboratory focuses on understanding neural circuit development and function, inhibitory neurobiology, cerebellar neural circuits, and synaptic function in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders such as epilepsy, autism, ataxia, and leukoencephalopathies.
We utilize multiple approaches including fruit fly and mouse models, genomic sequencing for disease gene discovery, state-of-the art imaging, transcriptomics, electrophysiology, molecular biology, molecular genetics, and behavioral techniques.
On-going projects address fundamental questions about the transcriptional regulation of inhibitory neuronal development and function in neural circuits, the role of cerebellar circuit dysfunction, and disrupted gene regulatory networks in neurologic disorders.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of basic neuroscience and genetics research with translational clinical efforts in a highly collaborative and stimulating environment located in the nation's largest research and medical center - Texas Medical Center.
