2023 Fuller Hospital College Student Summer Program
Fuller Hospital is seeking mental health specialists for our 2023 College Student Summer Program.

This is a great opportunity for college students majoring in Nursing, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology and other related fields to work full time while gaining exposure to careers in health care.

Past employees in our summer program have even continued employment with Fuller Hospital post graduation in various roles including Milieu Coordinator, Staffing Coordinator, Intake Coordinator, Social Worker and Registered Nurse.


June 5-9th Orientation
The last orientation that we will be accepting students into begins the week of June 5th. You will need to be fully compliant with our hiring requirements prior to this date.


Schedule/Pay
This position consists of 40 hours a week on either our evening (3pm-1130pm) or overnight (11pm-730am) shift. A set schedule which includes every other weekend is required.

Employees in the summer program will be paid $20/hour and will also be entitled to shift differentials.


Shift differentials are as follows:

  • 2nd shift $0.90/hour
  • 3rd shift $1.50/hour
  • Weekends $1.00/hour (in addition to 2nd or 3rd shift differential)

Job details


Individuals in our summer program will be trained to work as a mental Mental Health Specialist (MHS) and will work on the units as a MHS after training.


Duties for MHS staff include:

  • Ensuring a safe, therapeutic and engaging environment
  • Assisting with patient groups and activities
  • Providing routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
  • Assisting with patients activities of daily living
  • Documenting and communicating unusual or erratic changes in patients' behaviors

Fuller Hospital is a 109-bed licensed, private psychiatric facility located in South Attleboro, Massachusetts providing inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to residents of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Inpatient units are designed to treat adults with general psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, as well as adolescents with general psychiatric issues. Patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders can be treated on most units. Fuller Hospital also provides a less intensive Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to patients with psychiatric and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse
