Researches and identifies external foundations and organizations who are/maybe interested in funding opportunities which benefit Presbyterian Homes mission, charitable services, capital endeavors or programming and stewards these relationships to achieve the monetary goals.

Essential Functions
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.
- Research grant opportunities from government and nongovernment agencies.
- Generates revenues for Presbyterian Homes programs and services through timely submission of wellresearched, wellwritten and welldocumented fundraising proposals.
- Writes and prepares required follow up reports to government, foundations, and other funders.
- Acts as liaison between Foundation and campus operational staff.
- Completes special projects as needed to support the organization. Create new and innovative ideas for communicating foundation work, special campaigns, and impact.
- Creates, coordinates, and implements the production of annual reports and direct mail solicitations, newsletters, special mailings, brochures, supporting materials and event promotional materials.
- At the direction of Senior Director of Development, undertakes other development or marketing projects from time to time.
- The Development Specialist, Communications and Grants is accountable for the successful attainment of the abovestated goals.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Certification as a Fund-Raising Professional a plus.
- Three to five years of fund raising, public relations, and special events coordination experience a plus.
- Genuine interest in a fundraising career and an appreciation for the elderly.
- Must be very organized and a selfstarter.
- Ability to follow through on assignments and work independently to completion.
- Must possess enthusiasm, mature judgment; organizational skills and the ability to successfully plan the work and implement that plan are essential.
- Excellent communication skills, written, oral and visual.
- Exceptionally accurate in spelling, grammar, punctuation and in preparing factual materials.
- Excellent understanding and use of Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser's Edge NXT.
- Valid driver's license and car required to complete errands and travel to Presbyterian Homes' other communities.
