The Positive Outcomes With Engaging Resources (POWER) program is designed to provide guidance, support, and valuable insights to empower young women in their senior year of high school as they navigate the critical period of transitioning into higher education and the workforce.

Developed and launched by the Southern Prince George's County Community Charities Inc.

(SPGCCC), the program is vital as it addresses the needs and challenges young teenage girls face during this crucial phase of their lives.


The key components of the program encompass workshops, mentoring programs, experiential learning opportunities, skill development, community engagement, online learning platforms, annual conferences, and a participant capstone.

SPGCCC customizes its mentorship component to suit the specific needs of the local community, considering socio-economic, cultural, and educational factors that impact the journey of high school girls in Southern Prince George's County.

Summary Description:
SPGCCC is seeking a passionate and experienced Program Director to lead the POWER program.

As the Program Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including program development, implementation, and evaluation.

Your primary goal will be to create a supportive and inclusive environment that prioritizes post-secondary education and career access, fosters skill development & personal growth, and facilitates leadership and empowerment among participants.

The position reports to the Executive Director of SPGCCC, Inc. and is based in Fort Washington, MD.

While telework is permitted, the incumbent must live in the DC Metropolitan area and be on site for all in-person events, which could include occasional meetings with the Executive Director and Board of SPGCCC.


Key Responsibilities:

Program Design & Development

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop program curriculum, goals, and objectives.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to create detailed implementation plans, which include deadlines, milestones, processes, and risk mitigation protocols.
  • Design engaging and interactive activities, workshops, and events that address the unique needs and interests of senior high school girls.
  • Ensure alignment with educational standards and best practices in youth empowerment.
  • Ensure program content adheres to program description and intent as outlined in the approved program narrative.
Program Implementation & Management

  • Lead program implementation, including recruitment, enrollment, onboarding, and orientation of participants.
  • Coordinate logistics for program activities, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to schedules.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes mutual respect, collaboration, and personal development.
  • Adhere to program budget and participate In the development of future budgets.
  • Report detailed status updates to SPGCCC Executive Director and President as required.
Staff Supervision and Training

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to recruit, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers, including mentors, instructors, and administrative support.
  • Provide ongoing support, feedback, and professional development opportunities to ensure staff effectiveness and engagement.
Participant Support and Engagement

  • Develop strategies to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of program participants.
  • Facilitate mentorship relationships and peer support networks to enhance personal growth and leadership skills.
  • Encourage active participation and involvement in program activities, clubs, and community service projects.
Program Evaluation and Reporting

  • Establish and implement mechanisms to monitor program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze data on program metrics, including attendance, academic performance, and participant feedback.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting program achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide processes for monitoring performance and program efficacy to determine ways to improve.
Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Program Management Certification preferred.
  • Experience working with youth, preferably in a mentoring or educational setting.
  • Proven track record as a successful program director, program manager, or project manager.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience, with progressive responsibility, in program/project management.
  • Experience in managing staff and budgets.
