- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the data center's goals, considering technology trends and industry best practice
- Vendor Management: Identify and manage relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts to ensure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as IT teams and project managers, to understand their procurement needs and provide strategic guidance
- Cost Management: Optimize costs through effective negotiation, bulk purchasing, and value analysis while maintaining high-quality standards for technology products and services

- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the procurement lifecycle, implementing efficient workflows and technologies to enhance overall effectiveness

General Purpose of the Position:The Director of Procurement responsibilities include developing and implementing procurement strategies to acquire services, materials, and software to facilitate the operations of our buildings. Collaboration with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors, and ensure cost-effectiveness. Managing supplier relationships, assessing market trends, and maintaining a streamlined procurement process are crucial aspects of the role. Additionally, working and managing the Procurement and Warehouse teams to monitor inventory levels, track deliveries, and ensure compliance with quality and constructability standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position oversees the department's procurement team, setting goals, managing staff, and ensuring the successful procurement and delivery of all orders to meet goals as established by the business.
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues.
