    Director of Procurement - Las Vegas, NV

    The Director of Procurement responsibilities include developing and implementing procurement strategies to acquire services, materials, and software to facilitate the operations of our buildings. Collaboration with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors, and ensure cost-effectiveness. Managing supplier relationships, assessing market trends, and maintaining a streamlined procurement process are crucial aspects of the role. Additionally, working and managing the Procurement and Warehouse teams to monitor inventory levels, track deliveries, and ensure compliance with quality and constructability standards.

    Supervisory Responsibilities :
    This position oversees the department's procurement team. They are responsible for setting goals, managing staff, and ensuring the successful procurement and delivery of all orders to meet goals as established by the business

    This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

    1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the data center's goals, considering technology trends and industry best practices.
    2. Vendor Management: Identify and manage relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts to ensure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
    3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as IT teams and project managers, to understand their procurement needs and provide strategic guidance.
    4. Cost Management: Optimize costs through effective negotiation, bulk purchasing, and value analysis while maintaining high-quality standards for technology products and services.
    5. Compliance: Ensure procurement processes comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies, particularly focusing on socs compliance and privacy requirements.
    6. Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, technological advancements, and supplier capabilities to make informed decisions and identify opportunities for innovation.
    7. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including potential disruptions in the supply chain or changes in vendor capabilities.
    8. Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and minimizing excess stock or shortages.
    9. Quality Assurance: Work with vendors to maintain high-quality standards for products and services, conducting periodic evaluations to assess performance.
    10. Budget Oversight: Collaborate with department leadership to develop and manage procurement budgets, tracking expenditures and providing regular updates to leadership.
    11. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the procurement lifecycle, implementing efficient workflows and technologies to enhance overall effectiveness.
    12. Sustainability: Integrate sustainable and environmentally friendly procurement practices where applicable, aligning with corporate social responsibility goals.
    13. Communication: Maintain clear communication channels with both internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure smooth collaboration and address any issues promptly.
    14. Documentation: Keep accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor interactions, supporting transparency and audit requirements.

    Certification, Education and Experience :
    Certification

    • Relevant certifications or training in software and tools pertinent to procurement

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, such as Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field, etc. ; or a comparable work history in place of degree

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, project management/coordination, project estimating or related roles. At least 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management or related roles
