    Description

    Job: Bookkeeper

    Location: Commerce, CA

    Shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm M-F

    Pay Range: $ $30.00 per hour

    Job Responsibilities

    • Review and process Accounts Payable/Receivable via QuickBooks
    • Reconcile bank accounts.
    • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
    • Reconcile bank accounts.
    • Create and update expense reports.
    • Assist in preparation of GL account reconciliations and financial reporting.
    • Assist Accounting and other departments in research inquiries.
    • Assisting accounting team with 1099 tax process
    • Assisting accounting team with audits
    • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency in existing policies and procedures.
    • Prepare timesheet reports to submit to payroll.
    • Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
    • Protects company value by keeping information confidential.

    Knowledge:

    • Experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
    • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
    • Good math skills and ability to spot numerical errors.
    • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks
    • Familiarity with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.

    Skills:

    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Desire to learn more and improve as a professional

    Experience:

    • 1-5 years of experience as an office assistant, preferably accounting assistant.
    • BA in Accounting preferred by not required.
