This role will be for night coverage of 7pm-7am and contracted for 122 shifts per year, a 7 on 14 off rotation, compensated at a 1.This individual provides direct patient care a Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care.

Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.

Partners with Attending to provide night shift medical and surgical management for critical-care service.

• Critical-care duties include managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty (or on-call).
• Invasive procedures to include central lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters
• Selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.
• The above listed critical-care duties require that this position must be certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP)
• Completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program approved by the ACNP. Must hold current license as a Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Delaware, national board certification, a Certificate of Authority by the Delaware Board of Nursing as a certified Nurse Practitioner. Prescriptive authority as issued by the Delaware Board of Nursing.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care, required.
