This role will be for night coverage of 7pm-7am and contracted for 122 shifts per year, a 7 on 14 off rotation, compensated at a 1.0 salary.
This individual provides direct patient care as a Physician Assistant according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care.
Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.Responsibilities Responsibilities:
- Partners with Attending to provide night shift medical and surgical management for critical-care service.
Critical-care duties include managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty (or on-call).
Advanced skills of airway management Invasive procedures to include lines, thoracostomy, catheters. Selection, implementation, management, and titration of drugs, infusions, sedation, and analgesia. The above listed duties require that this position must be certified as a Physician Assistant. Other duties as assigned.Credentials Master of Physician Assistant Studies Education Other Information Other information:
Completion of a Physician Assistant program approved by the NCCPA and be certified. Must hold a Certificate of Authority by the Delaware Board as a certified Physician Assistant.
Valid prescriptive authority as issued by the State Medical Board of Delaware Must have DEA license or be eligible to apply for DEA number and license.
Must have a valid BLS and ACLS card upon hire. Certification for FCSS and formal airway course required within 1yr of hire. Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care, required.
