    Description

    Position Title: Environmental Specialist

    Position Classification: Salaried, Exempt

    Department: Business Administration

    Reports to: Director, Business Administration and Risk Management /Vice President

    Job Summary

    Support in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations at the Airport. Develop and lead sustainability initiatives. Act as a Company representative for environmental programs. Collaborate with consultants and legal counsel. Implement procedures aligned with business goals.

    Ensure adherence to Company policies and Airport Regulations. Lead the team during environmental incidents. Stay updated on regulations to maintain compliance. Represent the Airport in enforcement and oversight activities.

    Balance fieldwork and administrative tasks effectively. Be proactive and willing to assist beyond regular duties to meet Company needs.

    Essential Functions

    • Operate vehicles and machinery.
    • Work flexible/on-call hours when required.
    • Pass necessary checks and tests.
    • Communicate effectively in English.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Hold a valid driver's license with a clean record.

    Responsibilities

    Environmental Management (80%):

    • Manage environmental aspects at the Airport.
    • Provide technical support for environmental issues.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Coordinate with authorities and oversee permits.
    • Monitor waste disposal and management plans.
    • Handle environmental insurance claims.
    • Educate staff on environmental goals.
    • Lead during environmental emergencies.

    Environmental Lease Compliance (20%):

    • Ensure lease compliance through inspections.
    • Develop relationships with tenants.
    • Enforce Rules and Regulations.
    • Establish compliance systems.
    • Develop leasing policies and standards.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to resolve crises and compliance issues.
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in related field.
    • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
    • Experience with Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs).
    • Supervisory/project management experience is a plus.
