Position overview
The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and analyzing corporate expenditures and intercompany transactions within the organization.

The Corporate accountant will assist with tax filings, record data, recommend new cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options, and oversee the corporate accounting balance sheet.

You will also work across teams to present and translate important financial information and assist in company audits.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
  • Maintains the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules; book monthly depreciation; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals
  • Prepares various monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations and credit card payable accounts
  • Assist and prepare analysis of insurance and property tax allocations for all companies
  • Reconciles and adjust intercompany accounts for 7 legal entities
  • Assist with preparing Diesel Fuel Return for State and Federal reporting
  • Assist with compiling data for yearly 571L tax filings
  • Assist with compiling data for monthly and quarterly Sales and Use tax filings
  • Prepares documentation for external auditors
  • Collects and analyzes data about a company's operational costs
  • Performs account reconciliations
  • Prepares audit reports and presenting their findings to management
  • Manages the corporate accounting balance sheet
  • Interface with management to determine opportunities to maximize profit and minimize waste
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is required
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as corporate accountant is required
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory
  • Highly proficient with Excel Spreadsheets
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365

Work Environment

  • Works normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday most of the time.
  • Extends working hours into evenings and weekends during seasonal busy times.
  • Spends time in a climate controlled office setting looking a computer screens and keyboarding.
  • Attends budget meetings and other financial meetings on a regular basis.
