We're looking for people who care about people and who have a high interest in working with students who have multiple disabilities.

As a School Nurse at Elim, you'll be required to:


  • Provide direct healthcare services, health assessments, basic first aid and emergency care to students
  • Coordinate care of students with chronic or acute health conditions
  • Administer medications and monitor delegated medication administration as prescribed by a licensed health care provider
  • Implements plans through coordination of care, health teaching and health promotion and consultation to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others and effect change
  • Collaborates with the student's IEP team to develop and implement the student's IEP
  • Uses assessment/baseline data to develop vigorously appropriate IEPs goals as needed
  • Participates in all required meetings and completes all required sections of the IEP process
  • Supervise and coordinate oral feedings and special diets with food service personnel
  • Assist students with personal care needs including but not limited to toileting, diapering and catheterization
  • Educate and train staff on healthrelated topics such as, but not limited to, enteral feedings, infection control, and asthma
  • Communicate with administrators, teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students
  • Develop and implement training for staff who perform delegated tasks and other health related activities
  • Plan and implement school health management procedures
  • Develop and implement health plans for students with specific health needs
  • Perform or supervise mandated health screenings for students
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of professional disciplines to enhance the educational process and promote an optimal level of wellness for students
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding health concerns, IDPH/ISBE health requirements, and followup medical care
  • Maintain all medical records and files as required by law and administration.
  • Participate in the student admission process
  • Maintain and submit purchase orders for medical supplies and equipment

Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 3:15 pm
Includes a 6 week summer ESY session


Wages & Benefits:


  • Competitive starting pay of $63,400/yr (more with experience)
  • Includes $8,170 for 6 week ESY session
- $2,000 sign on bonus
