Position Summary:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead Continuous Improvement workshops including but not limited to Kaizen events, visual management, standard work and value stream mapping to engage colleagues in the culture of continuous improvement and deliver on cost savings target for the site.
- Lead complex data analysis including statistical analysis to derive meaningful and data supported process and or cost improvements.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize various cost improvement opportunities at the site level to present recommendations to site leadership team and carry through implementation.
- Lead and train colleagues on six sigma and lean tools such as 5S, SMED, Visual Management, PDCA, Kanban, Standard Work, Pull Systems, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma Tools, TPS principles, Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving
- Coach functional leaders on leading in a CI environment including:
- Leading performance board huddles
- Performing Gemba walks
- Coaching problemsolving activities.
- Deliver cost savings upwards of $1MM on annualized basis.
- Be innovative and inclusive in approach.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of transactional process improvements.
- Indepth knowledge of program and project management in support of Lean, Enterprise Excellence, Six Sigma, quality improvement and similar initiatives.
- Leadership capability and communication skills necessary to achieve results through others.
- Proven track record of achieving cost savings in a pharma or other manufacturing plant.
- Ability to influence cross functional teams and act as a liaison to resolve conflicts of interest.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline (required) or equivalent work experience; Master's Degree, preferred.
- Green Belt Certification (required), Black Belt Certification (preferred)
- As an alternative, a masters degree and 2 years of the aforementioned experience is also acceptable.
- Leadership experience in functional area, preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Individuals in this position work in both office environments as well as in production environments.
- Individuals can expect to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
