    Responsibilities

    Peraton has an exciting opening for a skilled Network Administrator to join our team in Landover, MD. The position involves supporting a major Information Technology (IT) system for the Department of Defense (DoD).

    The ideal candidate should have experience with Networking Monitoring tools like Zabbix or Node Manager, as well as a fundamental grasp of Cisco routers.

    Our program offers comprehensive engineering support throughout the entire system lifecycle, covering Development (hardware, software, and networks), Systems and Security Engineering (Integration, testing, and Deployment), Sustainment (Logistics and field support), Network Operations Center (NOC)/Help Desk, and Government user training support.

    The Network Administrator's key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Provides continuous network support, resolves availability issues, troubleshoots performance problems, and offers overall level two support.
    • Designs, implements, manages, and coordinates network system usage.
    • Assesses hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for complex networks.
    • Manages network performance, diagnoses issues, and conducts tuning activities to meet SLR requirements.
    • Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality network service.
    • Reports on network performance, frequent issues, underlying problems, and enhancement plans.
    • Implements and enforces network policies, processes, and standards.
    • Ensures compliance with network security procedures.

    This role requires on-site support, Monday to Friday.

    Our program offers a flexible work schedule and is conveniently located within walking distance from a Metro station.

    Qualifications


    Required Qualifications:

    • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the willingness and ability to obtain a Polygraph.
    • Bachelor's Degree with at least two (2+) years of network administration experience; or Masters Degree with no experience; or a High-school Diploma/GED with at least eight (8+) years of relevant work experience in place of a degree.
    • Hold a current/valid Security+ Certification or an equivalent IAT LVL II Certificate.
    • Experience with Networking Monitoring tools such as Zabbix or Node Manager.
    • Basic understanding and knowledge of Cisco routers.
    • Comfortable collaborating in a team environment.
    • Demonstrated eagerness and openness to learning.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
    • Bachelor's Degree with five (5) to seven (7) years of network administration experience; or Masters Degree with three (3) to five (5) years; or a PhD with zero (0) to two (2) years of relevant work experience.
    • Hold a current/valid CCNA Certification or an equivalent IAT LVL II Certificate.
    • Valuable experience in PDAS knowledge.
    • Previous involvement in supporting a 24x7 Network Operation Center.

    Salary Range Estimates:


    The provided estimate represents the standard salary range for this role and is just one aspect of Peraton's comprehensive compensation package for employees.

    Target Salary Range

    $66,000 - $106,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this position based on experience and other factors.
