Installation Manager to lead a team and own the installation activities in the market.

The
Installation Manager directs the process for in-home and business-to-business flooring installation, including ensuring product, materials, and independent contractors are allocated appropriately for the project and that the customer is prepared for the installation.

Responsibilities:


  • Formulate and execute an effective recruiting strategy to locate competent, skilled, and wellseasoned independent contractor installation businesses in partnership with Talent Acquisition to identify any staffing gaps that would affect market performance.
  • Foster a strong working relationship with Installation contractors, focusing on creating a culture of mutual feedback and coaching.
  • Oversee the audit process of every installation job to ensure product and materials are available and the scope of work matches the sales proposal.
  • Manage and direct the daily loading of allocated project opportunities and Follow Every Job to completion utilizing Empire Today software systems and processes.
  • Review capacity planner daily and allocate orders by priority to available installers by rating.
  • Conduct daily preload out and post load out meetings with crossfunctional teams.
  • Resolve concerns with installation contractors regarding prior installation services and allocation of opportunities.
  • Engage with installation contractors who are onsite to resolve installation issues, troubleshoot technical questions, and address customer change order processing. Discuss the scope and cost impact of change orders with customers and gain approval to proceed
-this includes securing payment for added scope or product or service changes.

  • Treat customers, subcontractors, and coworkers the way you would want to be treated (Golden Rule).
  • Build Trust through Integrity by ensuring ethical business practices are followed with contractors.
  • Maintain profitability and drive improvement of key operational business metrics by developing and implementing targeted actions to address gaps in performance by regularly evaluating appropriate internal metrics.
  • Direct and perform random jobsite visits to ensure customer satisfaction and identify variance from industry installation standards.
  • Respond to customer concerns and engage with customers during and after installation to ensure satisfaction.
  • Manage the performance, development, and expectations of internal team (Installation Coordinators and Administrators) and provide meaningful feedback and coaching.
  • Implement Corporate Installation initiatives to ensure achievement of stated corporate goals and executes continual improvement efforts for all aspects of install performance with a keen focus on ensuring team is clear on desired outcomes and supported through communication and context.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful project completion.
  • Manage installation opportunities using practical installation experience, common sense, and integrity.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures for installation operations and review with Market Manager monthly.
  • Attend leadership and market meetings as required.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of carpet and flooring installations.
  • Working knowledge of home improvement codes, permitting, and licensing requirements are preferred.
  • Experience with material takeoffs, additions, and estimating competency is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills and ability to communicate to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong problemsolving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain a cohesive team and rapport with Installation Subcontractor.
  • Capacity to create a sense of ownership and empowerment with internal support staff.
  • Ability to work in an office and dock setting, some regular evenings, weekends, shifts, off site, and/or with customers.
  • This position spends approximately 60% of time working in the office and warehouse on a computer which requires the ability to use a keyboard to enter data.
  • Approximately 40% of the time is spent in the field on job site visits and/or field internal inspections (must be able to drive to job sites/inspections).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds (i.e., materials, product samples, etc.).
