Team Overview
We are looking for a process driven and detail-oriented HR Operations Generalist specializing in payroll and benefits.

You will join the HR team in New York on a 12-month Fixed-Term contract with the potential to move to a full-time position.


Reporting to the Global Head of HR Operations and collaborating with the global HR team, you'll primarily support payroll and benefits administration and will also be heavily involved in compliance, metrics, and employee experience.


Your contributions will help achieve EquiLend's organizational goals and ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of Human Resources functions in North America.


Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible to collect and file timesheets, process payroll, and correct any errors for North America Payroll
  • Administer employee benefits, providing guidance during hiring and open enrollment
  • Act as the main point of contact for general employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, while referring complex matters to Senior HR support
  • Manage the full employee life cycle including onboarding, promotions, and exits
  • Oversee new hire onboarding with background checks, orientation, and training, and handle offboarding for departing staff
  • Maintain data integrity across reporting, personnel files, payroll, and benefits systems
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, while managing mandatory training and policy updates
  • Support employee engagement and D&I events
  • Support the annual compensation review including salary/bonus and annual performance review processes
  • Assist with talent acquisition by coordinating events and gathering feedback for early career programs
  • Work with immigration attorneys on employee visas and green cards
  • Process vendor invoices and keep organizational charts accurate

Required Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in HR or certification preferred, with solid HR experience
  • 3+ years in HR support, preferably in financial services
  • Prior experience with processing payroll, experience with TriNet a huge plus
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (such as VLOOKUP's for data analysis)
  • Prior experience with yearend compensation cycles
  • Excellent attention to detail and extremely process driven
  • Strong interpersonal skills for managing sensitive situations with tact
  • Ability to produce detailed daily reports and communicate effectively
  • Skilled at managing highvolume, competing demands with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proactive and independent, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Familiarity with New York employment law is a plus
  • Experience working with a global organization a plus (Europe & Asia)
